Hmmm...
I was in the library doing some research on a topic not relevant to this blog entry then suddenly something hit me, kinda like a flashback, of my primary school days.
we were told about the NGOs (Non- Government Organisations) and there was this first-aid thingy... it was called the Red Cross Society. we all know how the symbol looks like...
so then i remembered my teacher telling us, that because of the nature of its design, it can be easily related to the Christian Religion, the cross representing..well the cross Jesus died on. the islamic people wernt too happy about that, having such an important society bearing the "symbol of another religion". they believed it had subliminal and propagandic properties to the muslim people in the state/country. so they decided to change the logo.
this is what they came up with....
that leaves us back to the title of this entry "Hmmmm..."

no, but the fact that they changed it on the grounds of the cross having religious elements, and to a certain extent "propagandic" properties as well. they fear that it would be free publicity and at the same time solicitating the people in favour of christianity.
thus they changed it to something not-christian.
the irony is that, they condemn (reject is a milder word) this medium of "preaching", then took action to take it down, then put in their OWN "preaching message".
democrasy means the majority wins against minority, tht's y u c the crescent moon..u'll do the same thing or even worse thn tht if u r the majority..take it ez my fren & b grateful tht u still have air to breath & church to attend to...they respect u no matter who u r christian/buddhist/hindu etc...religious elements are there bcoz they r the majority. Now, go tell ur old primary teacher...
