And The Code Is...

...Apple :D

I have a bad habit of rolling up pieces of paper

::Slight Spoiler Warning::

Pretty stupid tho...having a "vision" of sorts, or as an observer its hard to imagine that seeing planets, a half-naked man squashed by a globe and a gigantic stone carved hand would lead him to such a fruity conclusion.

other than that, havent got another bad thing to say about the movie. :P

Now straying from the movie but onto a thought i had for some time now...

Like, i used to challenge gods and all in my heart, saying things like "if youre so almighty, strike me with thunder and kill me now" out aloud... but it never happens.

i know i know the devil temtped Jesus to jump off the Temple roof and survive the "fall" without any injuries and Jesus replied him with a simple phrase - "do not test god".

then what about other "Gods"? say allah? buddha gautama and who ever else you can name, i havent come up with anything yet, but since im refering this post to The DaVinci Code (movie), lets talk about christianity and its Divine authority and powers.

Moses split the Sea in two to allow passage, the overly used "turn water into wine", cure the sick, revive the dead..etc..the authenticity and reality of these "miracles" has yet to be verified. most people dont believe in a faith of religion (ie. Christianity) because no one could prove that those out-of-this-world things really happened.

in the movies case, its Jesus Christ's mortality, or immortality (can be viewed both ways).

after this show, i guess that sorta answers my questions..

So did Jesus have those powers? was he ever divine? or was he just a mere human with his godly passion personified into him by his politically influencial dssciples?

The bottom line is...

It Doesnt Matter.

because when people are in-need of some help, stuck in some serious shit and cant see a way out, they pray and draw strength from their faith and god. it makes them feel good and comforted. it is then converted to a form of spiritual strength and they are now able save themselves or you could argue that god saved them because it was his/her inspiration that gave them that morale they sought for.

if you truely believe in your god, then that is your faith and your faith alone.. if you go without faith, hey thats your choice. dont impose and dont let anyone impose their faith on you.

of course, im speaking for myself, if you want to mark me wrong, or impose (something which i am not doing, just want to share my POV) anything upon me, you are welcomed to do so at my comment page :)

aside from that, the other point i want to make in this post is

DA moVie RoxOrs

pay attention to the sound tracks, and take a piss before you watch it..because its long and you wont want to miss out the little details.

Hey Roy, George here. :)

Saw the link to your blog on msn and here I am lol.. We should talk more on guild chat, we're always too busy with our own affairs :(, lame i know haha.. some how, the "talking" atmosphere sometimes just isn't there.

But neways! I'm heading to Perth this July! Let me know when u pay Melb a visit haha, man I miss that place.

I have a few things to comment about ur post, just to share..

Since September, I've been regularly going to church cell groups (an event where kids our age meet up and discuss in depth issues regarding the christian faith).

I have learnt much since then.. but I must note that I am not christian - I'm there to learn la haha, so I believe I'm not too biased :P

You mentioned that "no one could prove that those out-of-this-world things really happened." With all due respect, compare this with the way we document history. The bible was an compilation of work found across continents in a span of almost a thousand years.

The scary thing is that, given that the manuscripts and testimonies from these different people at different times from different places actually talk about the same things, any scholar should consider the contents of the bible as historical fact.

Just as the Greeks existed - Jesus has walked on our earth. Scary.

There is much more to say for this.. but I'll leave it at that.

And you can expect many peopel to ask the same questions as well... most of my questions have been answered by pastors. You'll always have questions, and ultimately, I found out that to answer them, I should perhaps finish reading the bible first... tho i'm tempted to just ask the pastors in the face cuz i'm lazy :P oh but I'm darn lazy (cuz I prefer to wow.. oh tis the work of the devil...lol jkjk)

I concluded that there is should be much wisdom behind the christian faith. There must be wisdom behind why there are so many christian scholars in our world, and why the faith stays strong until now.

I have heard many testimonies.. yet I have not experienced one. People tell me that I have to first accept christ before these can take place.
Why must I do that first? The pastors explain that it is because God gives us choice because He loves us. Then if you wanna ask stuff about, why give us choice when choice might lead to our downfall? Etc, endless lahhhhhh, so yeah I'll end my rant here lol..

Take care, Roy :)
Let us kick more ass in Gorgonnash!

Geo - SPAM! in a can

lol, im not absolutely denying the possible fact that those miracles really happened, and im sure the evidence collected over the many years with so many testimonies are reputable.

my initial motive for the blog isnt anti-christian (if it appeared to be, i apologize lol it was never intended to be read that way).

im just saying that, from the movie, i got to learn that miracles isnt the only thing that defines a religion or faith.

in the movie, the crux of it was whether Jesus' "immortality" was really a "miracle" or not? or was it the wordly institutions, namely the Constantine thingomagic convention of sorts (i cant remember the full name) who "decided" to give Jesus' immortality.

well it goes on and on and i believe millions of people in the world are still debating on that..

gosh..waht am i talking here..

i guess what im trying to say in that post of mine is - put aside all the miracles of religion and all, it all comes down to the individual practicing that faith. like Dr Landon, he prayed for God when he was stuck in the well, whether or not god really sent his Hand down and took him out of the well is irrelevant. he did pray, and he did hold on to his faith.

gah..i think ill stop =/ talk to me in msn..its easier that way lol...

no 1. it's a movie. it's fiction. man-made. believe in what some author said? then it's as credible as what i say.

you're right. nobody should impose to you a religion etc. when u decide on anything, you decide. don't let others decide for you.

the only reason christians are so eager to share with u what they believe in is because they believe in the one God sent, Jesus. He died for you so that you may live. They just wanted you to know that Jesus loves you.
