STEALTH

a bold name. i like it. so bought the tickets and all, put a tumb out the street and i was on my way in a yellow cab to a new cinema to watch this film.

crappy prelude id say, didnt even bother to hire a narrator. at least War of the Worlds had Morgan Freeman in the start and the end. this one had texts going thru the clouds with the same font as the word STEALTH. but right after that, (i truely appreciate cinemas with good sound systems) 3 jets that i cant identiy flew past the screen. the chairs just rocked and jolted in its axle where it was fixed to the ground. the engines roars were ear shattering. truely an audio feast.

the starting of the show is really boring i must warn you before hand, with alot of "thats-not-gonna-happen" genre love story. but in the end it is justified..so people looking for a battle intensive action movie, you have gotta live thru this starting part. but really, like aforementioned, bare with the slow starting, the ending is quite rewarding.

if you would analyze this movie in a logical way (real-life) it is im-possible. so, dont. it kills the experience ;)

the fight scenes are very well made. also used the bullet-time (minus the camera rotation) element, it really offers moments that make you go "wow".

other than that, they tried to make this movie kinda like a simulation (reality tv) by playing with the camera techniques. not using a tripod, far away out-of-the-room-thru-a-window shots are pretty common. as if trying to engage the audiences yet want to keep us at a distance, not gettn too close with the important peoples (like real life, i mean, you wont be able to sit in the same room with a highly decorated officer in the Pentagon, wouldnt you? not without a good reason at least) well anyway, it worked for me. not sure about you guys.

this show has alot of refference to green apples...i hadnt figured it out yet. if you know the answer please tell me :)

the movie has no relation with the title tho. they make so much noise and stir up such a big chunck of beef its really hard to affiliate the word "STEALTH" with the movie. other than that, a worth while title.

my verdict is go ahead and watch it.

Dark Artistry

After getting stoned over too much RedBull drinks, i was waltzing without a tune down the street where a cab nearly hit me (or me hittn the cab), that sent my head spinning. and i wonder what would happen to me or my soul (if i ever had one) ?

then i embarked on a journey on my own in my mind, what would i see when i plunge into the abyss of hell. i came up with a couple of images, some entirely though of (purely fictional), some, i have seen with mine own eyes.

im thinking of making it into a 12,13 maybe a 17 piece gallery. im up to 5 pieces at the moment. the sketches may give some people a foresight, a preview of what their afterlives may look like, to others, its just a form of art. interprate my drawings in which ever perspective you would prefer.

but there is a dillemma, should i? post them here piece by piece? or should i publish them all together when its completed? so im thinking maybe you guys can decide for me? please post a comment here on whether i should do it piece by piece or a gallery all together? thanks

Fiery Review?

craqshed over at Eric's place alst weekend and we crtaved for a movie. so we went to a blockbuster movie rental store and nothing really grabbed our attention, but to cut a long story short we got "Reign of Fire" in the end.

Watched the movie for the second time after so many months since the first time ive watched it, and i must say, it is really quite good. not a 10/10 but definatly in the high side of the score board. but if memory serves me right i have read reviews in the past regardiing this movie and the did say it sucked. almost a 4/10. this reminds me of a few people i know which only one word can describe them when it comes to appreciating movies -cynical.

George Lucas's 3rd and final installment to his trilogy "Revenge of The Sith" was flammed bad in review forums, i went in the cinema with no exceptional expectations but i still came out satisfied.

and also a few other titles which in my spur of thoughts i cant recall

the fundamental thing is, some people expect too much from a movie (apart from being cynical), and by paying that 14$ for a ticket, they expect to see the world and beyond. why not go direct one yourself? or even better fund one. this comment however, does not apply to titles that are agreed by the entire world as a complete "waste of time" to watch. but even titles like "Land of the Dead" which i have informally "reviewed" a few posts back is worth watching if you are in the mood for an indirect comedy. if some movies did very badly in the genre they sought to be, then see them in a different perspective. eg: Land of the Dead failed as a sci-fi thriller, see it as a comedy :) its radical but it works. for me.

some people, who do not understand the movies language both partially or completely, in my opinion is not qualified to judge the movie. its like me, criticizing a french film when i dont know 99% what the actors are talking about.(that 1% includes "moi" "au revoir" and all :p ). its absolutely ridiculous aint it?

maybe its just me, but since ive went out on movie dates with my ex-girlfriend, i love to just go in and watch a movie that i know nothing about(since she loves to watch movies that are under my radar) i then let the feelings left in me when i walk out of the cinema be my judgement. wouldnt it be nice? to watch a movie? and let it cultivate you along the way?

Jet Li and Morgan Freeman's "Unleashed" is not bad as well. with the plot/ideas relating to real-life (Freud and his psychoanalytical, dream interpretation theories) but if you are looking for an ass busting film, this is not your cup of tea. nonetheless i enjoyed it sufficiently to be able to recommend it to you.

Freedom?

It was on this fateful day a few decades ago that the states of Malaya merged into a new country called "Malaysia". well, not exactly, merge. since they have been merged long ago by the rulling British residents, this day is meant to be "independace day" where malaysians have their own government and such. malays, chinese and indian folks present at that day can claim citizenship... but where do the malays come in the 1st place? Indonesia? and the Chinese from China, Indians from India. Piling us up in one place then giving us the "freedom" the colonials took away from us in the first place. i really dont get it. i really dont. Merdeka (independance day) had always been a day where i can just SLACK and stay out of the outside because of the horrendous traffic jams. loved the only 6 f-16s we have too, flying over our heads. other than the 1 day holiday it brings, it doesnt impress me much =/

we all know the birth of "malaysia" can be traced back to a dude called Parameswara, supposedly a decendant of Alexander the Great. (AhAHahAAHahhaHAhaHahaHAHAhaHAH.....wait let me catch my breath ...ahaHAhahAhahahAhahaHAhahAhahaHahahhaaAA) ahem..okay. to me he is just a murderous bastard that kills kings along his way to Melacca. inc Temagi from Temasik (Singapore) no wonder they hate malaysians so much.

Irony's Of Life

irony's of my classes rather

last wednesday, i woke up late due to "technical problems" as my alarm phone didnt go off as intended.i ran my ass to class, constantly thinking about the fit athlete that i once (upon a time) was. i ran out of breath 1/3 of a 10 minute run. i was sweating hard on a winters day. and when i finally pushed the doors open into my class, thinking my lecturer would give me that sarcastic welcome, i cant see her anywhere in the room. my friends go like "RoY! Jane is not here". o.0" haxx! so all that run, is for nothing. well not nothing at least it showed how my stamina sucked.

another time, even back before the ^above^ incident, we heard rumours about a pop-quiz-essay. and so, i studied all my media materials, rememebring all the facts and dates. i set a goal for my self that night that i would cover | | that many chapters, but it was strange as my reading speed really declined that day. until 3am, i wasnt even half way thru my "proposed" plan. at 4.30am i couldnt bear it anymore, i went to bed with a heart full of guilt and worry. i wake up the next day, yet again late. my media tutor hates late comers. o, did i mention HATE? yes, HATE latecomers. once again i found myself running to class. well to cut a lon story short, my tutor was even late-er than i am. and guess what he said when he entered? well you guessed it, it has something to do with the quiz.

and now, just as i am typing this blog, i woke up 7am in my bids place, and plan to head home, take a shower and prepare for my 10oclock class. i then found myself arrranging my mp3 files into my mem card so i can listen to it on the waltz to my classes. then the clock at the bottom right side of my screen showed 9.51am. HOMG im gonna be late again. so and yes, i ran. i peeked into a class (where my class shud be held) but a totally different group of people. but the same lecturer. i dont know why but i opened the door and the whole class was looking at me weird. some girls were giggling away. my lecturer said, Roy, go back to bed. your class is at 11. its 10.30am now, and this explains why i am blogging out of break times.

Life itself, is an irony
